Abstract
Researchers, often, lament that teachers do not utilizing the most recent evidence in the classroom. Teachers, then, retort that the such evidence is not timely or practical for their classroom, and remains inaccessible. To bridge this gap, researchers and teachers must work together to co-create research and partnerships that mets the needs in the classroom and is accessible for teachers. This session will explore common strategies to develop effective relationships.
Learning Objectives:
- Attendees will be able to list the strengths of close partnerships between teachers and researchers. Though this identification, attendees will be provided the rationale for the importance of such relationships.
- Attendees will be able to identify common pitfalls associated with creating partnerships between teachers and researchers. By understanding how these partnerships can go awry, attendees will be empowered to develop partnerships with confidence.
- Attendees will be able to generate and assemble strategies to build such partnerships in their own community. In addition, attendees will be given the opportunity to develop connections through the session.
